Invite up to four willing people to classify €1, €5, and €30 privately as easy now, needs planning, requires postponement, or unavailable. Nobody supplies income, debt, account balances, or an explanation. Participants may reveal any classifications they choose and may pass on every round while retaining full rights to the snacks.
The protocol asks whether discussing self-chosen categories makes recommendation language more conditional and respectful. Record only whether a recommendation changes after the exercise—for example, from “everyone can afford it” to a statement of benefit and full cost—not which person chose which category.
The hypothesis is that visible variation will reduce universal affordability claims. A result from one table would describe that table, not humanity. Publish the prompt, group size, opt-out rate, and anonymous before-and-after phrasing if every contributor has explicitly agreed.
