Choose five new purchases below €10 and record the date, intended job, and a private excitement score. Seal those first impressions away for thirty days. At review time, score remembered pleasure, repeated utility, and replacement intent before reopening the original note.
The hypothesis is that repeated utility will align with replacement intent more often than day-one excitement, with room for gloriously impractical exceptions. The protocol compares those measures; it does not declare one emotion financially superior or ask a croissant to defend its long-term roadmap.
For a reproducible group version, set the price ceiling and scoring scale in advance, report missing follow-ups, and publish aggregate relationships only. Product names, receipt images, payment details, and individual spending histories should remain outside the dataset.
The test leaves room for value to become a habit or a very good anecdote.Schedule a receipt review
